JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — State Rep. Del Taylor, D-St. Louis, was appointed to the House Utilities Committee by Minority Floor Leader Crystal Quade, D-Springfield.

“I am excited and energized to dive deeply into a policy area in which I have a great deal of professional experience,” Taylor said. “I look forward to improving our state’s physical infrastructure of pipes, power lines and the regulations surrounding them. I also look forward to adding my input to larger conversations about Missouri’s future energy and water needs.”

Taylor has a chemical engineering degree. He designed water treatment equipment and worked for a local telephone company. He later earned his MBA and worked as a private business consultant, oftentimes for companies that specialized in energy production and distribution.

Earlier this session Taylor was appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Infrastructure by House Speaker Dean Plocher.
