On the House

The Missouri House of Representatives is one of two elected bodies that form the Missouri General Assembly, the other being the Missouri Senate.

The Missouri House has 163 elected member positions, each representing about 37,000 Missourians. Members are elected every two years during elections that occur in even-numbered years.

Missouri is governed by the 103rd General Assembly. As of the end of its first of two regular sessions in 2025, the assembly included 109 Republicans, 52 Democrats and two vacancies.

Membership & Leadership

Members of the Missouri House Democratic Caucus include all sitting Democratic representatives in the Missouri House. 

The offices of Minority Leader, Assistant Minority Leader, Minority Whip, Caucus Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Policy Chair are elected by the current membership and serve for the length of each General Assembly (two-year terms).

The Missouri House Democratic Caucus is committed to creating a fair tax system that shifts more of the burden away from working families,  providing adequate funding to support public education, and restoring public trust in core institutions including each of the three branches of government.
