Committee will discuss and propose policy on agriculture, energy

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri House Speaker Dean Plocher has appointed State Rep. Del Taylor, D-St. Louis, to a standing committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures.
“I’m honored to receive this appointment to the NCSL Standing Committee on Natural Resources and Infrastructure, and I hope to reflect Missouri’s deep commitment to agriculture, energy, conservation, infrastructure, and the environment,” Taylor, a first-year state legislator, said. “I cannot wait to work with colleagues from across the country.”
The conference hosts several committees where state legislators and staff meet virtually year-round to exchange policy ideas, debate best practices and explore issues in a bipartisan way. Committee members also have an opportunity to present on subjects at the NCSL’s annual in-person conference in Washington, D.C.
The NCSL serves as a resource for state legislators and legislative staff from both sides of the aisle and crafts policy on state-federal issues for its lobbying efforts in Washington, D.C.
Plocher cited Taylor’s experience as well as his seat on the Missouri House Subcommittee on Appropriations – Agriculture, Conservation, Natural Resources & Economic Development as motivation for his appointment.
“With his background in international business, and his Chemical Engineering expertise, he is an excellent appointment to the National Conference State Legislators Committee on Natural Resources & Infrastructure,” Plocher said. “The knowledge he brings to the committee will be an asset to the NCSL. I made the appointment as I know he will serve with honor and integrity.”
The speaker also appointed state Reps. Bruce Sassmann, R-Bland, and Jeff Myers, R-Warrenton, to the same NCSL committee.
