“I’m humbled and honored to take on this important position and I fully understand the weight of this awesome responsibility,” Bush said. “I’m 100 percent behind the core mission of the board of ‘providing affordable, accessible, quality health care options’ to the state’s workers and retirees.”

House Speaker Jon Patterson, R-Lee’s Summit, and House Minority Leader Ashley Aune, D-Kansas City, appointed Bush to hold one of the two seats reserved for members of the Missouri House of Representatives on the 13-member board.

Bush, who is serving his first House term, has more than a dozen years of experience as a registered nurse, working in both direct patient care and case management. Bush’s experience includes helping patients navigate the complex insurance and provider marketplace, connecting people with skilled nursing, home health, specialized care and many other support services.

Bush will begin serving on the board immediately, with the next meeting scheduled for Thursday.

The MCHCP provides coverage to employees and retirees of most state agencies, as well as public entities that have joined MCHCP, a stand-alone state entity created by statute.
